Advancing Justice-LA Welcomes New Communications Director Jessica Jinn

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles (Advancing Justice-LA) welcomes Jessica Jinn (晉行) as its new Communications Director. Jinn will be overseeing the organization’s traditional and digital communications strategy to lift up the organization’s role as a leading voice for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.
Prior to joining Advancing Justice-LA, Jinn worked in clean transportation and environmental justice for several years, working extensively with local governments and community-based organizations to develop clean vehicle policies, analysis, and educational resources. In addition, she helped develop an environmental justice project that ensured disadvantaged communities were well-informed and included in the statewide conversation about clean vehicles. Most recently, as Advancing Justice-LA’s communications manager, she deepened the organization’s digital strategy and reach and expanded collaboration with ethnic media.
“I am very excited to be in this role and I look forward to continuing to strengthen our organizational voice and our partnerships with media,” said Jessica Jinn, whose father was a journalist with Los Angeles-based Chinese newspapers and worked as a news director for KSCI Channel 18.
“We are delighted to welcome Jessica as our new communications director,” said Vice President of Program Strategy Reshma Shamasunder. “Jessica’s passion for social justice and experience with community engagement will serve as a valuable asset as we continue to advocate for AANHPI communities. We look forward to working with Jessica to deepen our strategic impact.”
Jinn is a native of Diamond Bar, California. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from New York University and a Master’s degree from the University of California, San Diego.
