Free Legal Clinics Available for Undocumented Youth

President Barack Obama announced on June 15 that certain young undocumented immigrants to defer deportation for two years and apply for work authorization. US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director, Alejandro Mayorkas provided details of the application process last week. Applications will be accepted starting August 15.

There will be a filing fee of $465. Applications have not yet been made available, though some “unscrupulous lawyers” have been charging unknowing young immigrants to fill one out already, according to Chu.
