Building upon the legacy of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center

'Your Vote Matters' Press Conference and Legislative Briefing

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) are the fastest growing racial group in California and the nation. The number of AAPIs registered to vote in California also increased 60% from 2002 and 2012. By November 2016, AAPIs will make up at least 11% of California voters. As a community, AAPIs are poised to be the “margin of victory” in key races and campaigns and to increase our influence on elected officials who make key policy decisions.
In anticipation of the 2016 election and in honor of May as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we invite you to celebrate the growing influence of AAPIs in politics and society and examine how to leverage these demographic changes to advance public policy that benefits all Californians.
