Sacramento Community and Policy Advocate (Fixed Term 03/2020 – 11/2020)

Under the supervision of the Education Equity Director and Interim Policy Strategist, the Community and Policy Advocate is involved in legislative advocacy and partner engagement through grasstops organizing, coalition building, community and partner engagement, strategic policy planning, and provides coordination assistance to organizational policy efforts.

Education Equity Coordinator

Donna Tang has recently joined Advancing Justice-LA’s Higher Education unit as the Education Equity Coordinator. She has taken a lead role in overseeing the College for All Coalition’s Community Engagement Subcommittee and working with Southern California partners. She will work with partner organizations on higher education access to underserved populations.

Research Analyst

Shelly Chen is the Research Analyst in the Demographic Research Project at Advancing Justice-LA. She has been working on Advancing Justice-LA’s “Your Vote Matters” campaign since May 2014, recruiting and training volunteers and organizing phone banks to conduct in-language voter outreach and education.
