Executive Assistant

Position Summary:  

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the CEO including but not limited to phone and email management, calendar organization, correspondence, and daily scheduling.  This position interfaces with individuals throughout the organization, board members, and potential and existing donors.

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager role has oversight functionality over grants accounting, post-award administration financial accounting and audit preparedness. Additionally, this role is instrumental in tracking grant oversight key performance metrics and associated reporting to senior leadership. This is a nonexempt position and responsible for preparing monthly grant/contract billings to federal, non-federal and private grantors and ensures proper compliance with all GAAP, grant/contract standards and guidelines. This role also assists with payroll processing and payroll allocations, vendor disbursements and account analysis. This position exercises independent judgment and discretion and is responsible for making recommendations to improve grant reporting procedures and compliance and other accounting procedures. This position also supports the organization and Controller in all audit processes, while ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting processes and procedures.

Human Resources Director

Victor Lopez is the Human Resources Director at Advancing Justice-Los Angeles. He has over 13 years of experience in Human Resources and has worked for both small and large companies and also in higher education. Victor received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and received his Master's degree from Purdue University.

He enjoys reading, listening to music, watching a good television series, and staying physically active. 

Executive Assistant

Prior to joining Advancing Justice-LA, Michi worked at the Little Tokyo Service Center as the Executive Assistant, Office Manager and Receptionist.  Outside of work, she likes to stay active and volunteer with different community organizations such as East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center, Nisei Week and her church, Montebello Plymouth Congregational Church.  

Michi graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University, Los Angeles.
